“I have a strong connection to Scotland. My great grandfather, Henry McLeod immigrated from the Isle of Lewis to northern Manitoba in Canada. My wife and I got married in Edinburgh in 1991. Then later (1999) we lived there for a year with our young daughter while my wife worked for the BBC. On weekends we took trips around Scotland. I love the Isle of Skye for the openness of the landscape and the ever changing light. The cloud cover can be dark and foreboding. Then all of a sudden the sun pokes through, creating this incredible dramatic light on the landscape.”
